Genie Classic : Version 3 Release 4 Build 1076
Please read release notes for full list of changes included.
Build 1076
- Archiving : Major improvements have been made to the speed of archiving. This
will have most impact for sites with large numbers of events per day.
- System Reports : A new report has been added - Users On Site, Today. This
is effective for sites where readers are configured as Site Entry readers, and lists
users who are currently on site, and have entered since midnight.
Previous Builds
- Inputs : A new flag has been added to the input general details in the Points Centre
to allow processing of unsealed events. Normally only alarms are processed. When
this flag is set, unsealed events will be stored for the point, allowing the unsealed
state to be seen in the graphics, and other tools which show point state.
- Genesis Communications : The routine for resynchronising the events when the communications
started would occasionally fail, and re-process events already in the history. This
has been fixed.
- Points Centre : The headings for Events and Actions on the Triggers tab were incorrect
in the list of actions to take. This has been fixed.
- A new option has been added to Classic Genie to interface with Club Management Systems
while still having all the functionality normally found in Genie. The Club Access edition
of Genie is designed for sites where Genie is only used for access control, and users
are most commonly added automatically from data exported from the Club Management system.
- Playtpus EZeMember club management system has been added to the list of club management
systems supported and tested with Genie.
- Users Centre : The reporting of whether an users was on or off site was only showing
Off site. This has been fixed. Note that if the user presents their card during
the time their data is displayed, this will not automatically refresh at this stage.
- Time Groups Wizard : Fixed a bug recently introduced that prevented adding time
blocks to the group.
- Door Access Groups Wizard : Fixed a bug that only occurred in very rare circumstances
that prevented door access groups generating and downloading to the panel.
- Points Centre : Added 8 Input Expanders to list of devices for deleting.
- User Centre : Fixed a bug where user properties would be cleared if the users
type was changed. This is a recently introduced bug which has been fixed.
- User Importing : Fixed a bug where dates did not convert correctly if the date separator
in the regional settings was a '.' .
Build 1047
- Users Centre. Ensure users who do not have change permission cannot activate/void
cards, and add and delete additional cards.
- Point Commands. Fixed a bug that hid the lists when lists were requested in a
separate window.
- Operator Password Change. Fixed a bug that prevented changing passwords due to
incorrectly checking for valid data for saving.
- User Importing. Fixed a bug that resulted in the date not being handled properly when
the regional setting for the short date format was YYYY-DD-MM. Note the format in the
file being imported needs to be YYYY-MM-DD or YYYY/MM/DD.
- Points Centre. Change of Building Region for Devices has been fixed. Previously
changes were not saved.
Build 1040
- Time Attendance Reports: The start date for time periods for Summary reports was incorrectly
displayed, although the time period was correctly calculated. This has been fixed.
- Action Centre: A message box is now displayed when an action is started using the Run Now
button.
- Flexware Club Systems: Alarms from the panels are reported as events only for systems
running the Club Access Version with Flexware integration.
- Panasonic Option : Saving images to jpeg files has been added.
Build 1027
- Output List Deleting: A bug was introduced in B1025 related to deleting output lists.
The downloading has been optimised with the introduction of the new Upload/Download Wizard.
This Output List bug has been fixed.
Build 1026
- Panasonic Option: The Command Centre failed to start. This has been fixed.
- Genesis panels 4.73+. A bug was introduced in B1025 that resulted in Genie being
unable to connect to the panels with error : PC access timed out. This has been fixed.
- Upgrading from versions originally installed before V2R305 failed with -194 error.
This has been fixed.
- User Importing: Occasionally the user import would fail as a result of contention
caused by trying to open the file while it was being written to. This has been fixed.
Build 1025
- Multiple Monitors: Screens did not always properly when secondary monitors were
to the left of the primary monitor. Proper support for monitors on the left has been added.
- Graphics: Extends number of points on a drawing to 512.
- Users: Card details for unknown cards can now be copied to the clipboard using the
Enrol Key form on the History screen. The Users Centre can read the details from
the clipboard for inserting into a selected user's details.
- Uploading and Downloading: A new wizard has been introduced with revised handling
for downloading to give more feedback on progress. Optimizations have also been
made in the internal processing for these procedures.
- Points Centre: Fixed error in changing the User ACL for a RAS.
- Panasonic CCTV: A new option has been added to interface with Panasonic WJ-ND400 and
WJ-ND300 network disk recorders.

Genie Classic : Version 3 Release 4 Service Packs and EBFs
Service Pack 1
This service pack contains a number of changes previously supplied individually.
- Scheduled User Deletes handling when importing users
- User Wizard PIN handling
- Invalid dates in user uploading ignored
- Correct handling of change card number length for limited cases
- Command Centre Find window now shows correctly when selected
Scheduled User Deletes update for Genie Classic and Genie Club Access
This EBF corrects a rare problem with automatic importing of users.
If a user is due to expire on the day after updating their record automatically,
Genie would still mark the user as expired during its overnight housekeeping.
This has been resolved. Changes have also been made regarding processing of the
users id.
Users Wizard : Fixes bugs relating to handling PINs in the Users Wizard.
Command Centre - B1076 replacement
This new version corrects a problem with using the Find selections located
at the bottom of the CommandCentre window.

Options: Panasonic Integration Version 3 Release 4 Build 1048
This setups up Genie for use with the Panasonic equipment supported. If this
is used to install the option with a later version of Genie, eg B1076, then the
setup for the later version, eg B1076, MUST be rerun after the Panasonic option has been installed.

to 30 days to allow extra time for board repairs.

- Exporting Events : Sitecode for a card is now exported in the events file for Flexware.

- Door Access Groups Wizard : Fixed a bug relating to displaying doors whose timegroup
contained no timeblocks.
Professional Only
- Graphics Viewer can be configured so that the drawing for an point is automatically
displayed when a new alarm occurs for that point. This is configured for an Operator Group.
- Point Control can be configured to force operators to log a comment when
commanding a point. This is configured for an Operator Group.
- Access Types Wizard : Fixed a bug relating to saving the default user type for
uploading and importing.

and changed using the Wizard.
- Main Menu can be displayed as a floating window, or hidden on the Task bar.
- Reports can be exported to PDF files.
- Partitioning can be extended and simplified.
- Genie Closdown allows closing the Master workstation only in multiple workstation
systems so clients restart when the Master is restarted.
- Log Card at Door has been added for panel build 4.72+.
- Reports New Panel Data reports have been added.
- Door Watcher new version included.
- About Wizard can interrogate the Torrens web site to determine if there is
a new version to download.

- Archive Reports can be configured, and can be scheduled. Data can be export as
PDF files in report format, or CSV or TXT files in column format.

- Operator Logoff on Timeout Operators can be automatically logged off after
a set number of minutes of inactivity at a Workstation.
- User Area Activity Report A new report has been added to display the last time a user's pins was
entered to access or secure an area.
- Testing Genie programming has been simplifed by the addition of a utility to simulate
events from a panel.
Professional Only
- Trigger Emails Generate emails on select Point Events. This can be used to send emails to mobile
phones to alert technicians to potential hardware problems.
- Operator Comments can now be added directly from the Point Control Window.
- Customised Alarm Sounds can be set up for different operator groups. Select a different sound
for different alarm priorities, or suppress the sound altogether. Set these from the Operator
Groups Wizard.
Build 731 Changes (14 December 2009)
- Fixed a bug saving the default graphic in Standard Genie.
- Fixed a bug with the single left click to issue default command for a point in Professional Genie.

Service Pack 9 for Version 2 Release 3.6 OFFICIAL RELEASE (Build 732)

This Service Pack is for V2R3.6 only. Check your Version in Help -> About and
upgrade before attempting to install the Service Pack.
This Service Pack combines previous bug fixes with some additional changes.
- Timegroups Handling : Fixed bug which prevented display of Door and
Area ACLs when there were no timeblocks in a timegroup.
- Timeblock Generate : Fixed bug which prevented setting all times to 0.
- Archive Reports : Fixed rare bug which prevented events from being displayed in Archive Reports
for a limited number of sites.
- Holiday List Downloads : Fixed rare bug relating to formatting lists for downloading.
- Area List Recalls : Fixed bug relating to uploading inputs > 256.
- Reader Programming : Changing the Area Access for a Reader was not correctly downloaded to
the panel. This has been fixed.
- Reader Programming : The selection of doors controlled by a reader has been changed to all
doors on the same type of device, instead of the same device.
- Areas : Bypassed inputs in areas were not properly reported. This has
been fixed.
- Holiday Group Uploading : Genie did not correctly delete holidays from groups when
uploading if holidays were deleted from holiday lists in the panel. This has been fixed.
This bug has also been fixed for Timegroups/Clocklists.
- Graphics : Jump to graphics from Alarms has been fixed.
- Archiving : Intermittent error would cause archiving to fail. This occurs
for events, generally relating to access, where the door description and the user
names are very long.
- Door and Area Access Groups : If the group contained a large number of doors/areas
the list of timegroups for selection for the door/area would appear below the list,
sometimes too low on the screen to be seen. This has been fixed.
- User Processing : Genie was not always correctly handling PINs for users under
user no 100 in the Genesis panels. This has been fixed. Some invalid data may exist
in the Genie database. As records are processed, the error will be reported and can
be fixed. These changes relate to both the Users Centre and the Users Wizard, although
the ways in which the errors occurred were different in each application.
- Scheduler : Suspended system scheduled actions are set to pending if they have been
suspended for 2 days.
Version 2 Release 3.04 Features
- Graphics resizing and scrolling has been enhanced. A bug that caused rectangles
to be hidden has been fixed.
- Uploading Points such as Doors has been modified so that the Genie description is
no longer overwritten with the name from the panel.
Version 2 Release 3.03 Features
- Changes to the Graphics Editor, Icon Editor (Professional) and DXF converter. New
icon types have been added to the graphics editor. Professional Genie now supports
DXF files as underlays for drawings.
- Genesis communications using Tibbo units. Additional error handling has been added
to cater for network problems which previously caused the panels to remain disconnected.
- Data downloading to panels. Additional error handling has been added to processing
of downloads when panels are offline. The routine for detecting data requiring downloading
when a panel goes online has also been modified. An error message will be generated if
a download fails due to the panel going offline as the download is attempted. There is
a new report available from System Reports and the Points Centre which lists any panels
for which there is data awaiting downloading.
- Areas deleted in the panel through Technician Software will now be deleted when areas
are uploaded into Genie.
Version 2 Release 3.02 Features
- Time Attendance : Added new formats for export and report.
- Changes to handling computer names longer than that supported by NetBIOS. This
caused some upgrades to result in Genie 'Waiting for Server' on restart.
