Alarms and Graphics |
An alarm is an event that requires operator action.
When alarms are received, they are displayed on the Alarms Screen .
All events, including alarms are shown on the History Screen .
The Graphic Viewer shows the point in alarm, and provides tools for viewing point states and controlling points.
Graphics can be created using the built in Graphic Editor .
Simple DXF files can be imported and converted into Genie format backgrounds using the DXF Converter.
An Icon editor is available in Genie Professional for creating custom icons.
When an alarm is generated it is displayed on the Alarm screen. An audible tone can be generated. The Alarm Window can show current acknowledged and unacknowledge alarms.
Details of the selected alarm can be displayed in the bottom part of the window.

When an event is received from a panel or generated in Genie, it is displayed on the History Log Screen.
Information about an event can be be shown by right-clicking on a selected log, and selecting from a menu. Point information can be displayed, commands issued and comments recorded.
History logs are stored in the system Archives for reporting.

The Graphics Viewer provides a simple way to quickly view the location of an alarm. Graphics can be linked to provide easy jumping from one graphic to another.
Points can appear on more than one graphic. They may be displayed using text and/or icons. The colour indicates information about the current state of the point.
The red outline indicates a point for which there is an unacknowledged alarm. Details of the point can be quickly viewed by clicking on the icon.
Commands are available to authorised
operators.

The Graphics editor provides a simple mechanism for creating graphics with lines and other shapes. Icons or text can be added to show live points.
Graphics underlays can be set to use Bitmap, JPEG or PNG files. Text can be added to the background, and live points then added on top of these.
The DXF Converter provides a utility for creating backgrounds from simple DXF files. These are imported as backgrounds in the editor, and can then be edited to provide extra details, remove unwanted items and add live points.
